This registration will allow you to provide contact information, sign consents and submit payment.  Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately.  To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account information available.

Open to all Girls 4.5 -14yrs old from Coto de Caza, Dove Canyon, Foothill Ranch, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, Rancho Santa Margarita, Trabuco Canyon, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Rancho Mission Viejo, Wagon Wheel and the surrounding communities in south Orange County.

• All levels of experience welcome
• Season runs from mid to late-Jan thru the end of April
• There are typically 1 - 2 practices per week (8U and up)
• There is 1 weekday and 1 weekend game per week (8U - 14U)
• As weather permits, there will be a mid-season tournament and an end of season tournament (8U - 14U)
• 6U will have 1 practice day and 1 weekend game per week
• 12U and 14U teams may play an Inter-league schedule against teams from other leagues in the area
• Coaches and assistant coaches must register separately
• Volunteers are needed - Please sign up separately online

****Please Note Important “Play Up” Rules****

Please note that the RTGSA “play up” rules are as follows:

Play Up Eligibility

A. Fall Select

1) A player may request to play up a division upon the written consent of the parent(s) or guardian(s). A request to play up during the Fall Select Season must be approved by the Executive Board.
2) A player requesting to play up must be within one year of the minimum age requirement for the division they wish to move into.
3) A player requesting to play up in a Fall Select season must have completed one full year in the correct age division in which they are requesting to play up from.

B. Fall and Spring Recreation

1) A player may play up an age level, providing there is room for all registered players in that division's age bracket.
2) A player requesting to play up must be within one year of the minimum age requirement for the division they wish to move into.
3) A player requesting to play up in recreation league must have completed one full year in the correct age division in which they are requesting to play up from.
4) Play up requests for the Spring Recreation season(s) will follow these rules:

i. Eligible 12U pitchers may be drafted into the 14U division only if they rank as a #1 or
#2 pitcher in the 14U division. All other players may play up in the 14U division if they rank in the first 2 rounds of the 14U rec season draft after the pitchers and catchers have been distributed and only as long as there are 14U division roster positions available for all 14U players registered. *ALL PLAY UPS, REGARDLESS OF RANKINGS, MAY BE SUBJECT TO EXECUTIVE BOARD APPROVAL.

ii. Eligible 10U pitchers may be drafted into the 12U division only if they rank as a #1 or #2 pitcher in the 12U division. All other players may play up in the 12U division if they rank in the first 2 rounds of the 12U rec season draft after the pitchers and catchers have been distributed and only as long as there are 12U division roster positions available for all 12U players registered. *ALL PLAY UPS, REGARDLESS OF RANKINGS, MAY BE SUBJECT TO EXECUTIVE BOARD APPROVAL.

iii. Eligible 8U pitchers may be drafted into the 10U division only if they rank as a #1 or
#2 pitcher in the 10U division. All other players may play up in the 10U division if they
rank in the first 2 rounds of the 10U rec season draft after the pitchers and catchers
have been distributed and only as long as there are 10U division roster positions available for all 10U players registered. *ALL PLAY UPS, REGARDLESS OF RANKINGS, MAY BE SUBJECT TO EXECUTIVE BOARD APPROVAL.

iv. Eligible 6U players may be drafted into the 8U division with Executive Board approval.

C. Evaluations:
All players, regardless of whether they are requesting to play up or play in their age division, will be evaluated prior to the start of the Spring Recreation season.

i. Scores for the initial evaluation will be used for the purpose of:
• Drafting Spring Recreation Season teams.
• Evaluating players requesting to play up.

D. All-Star Selection Process:
1) Play up/Play down Option: A player MUST declare which Age Division they intend to be considered for on their All-Star Interest form. Once the interest form is submitted, changes cannot be made. If a player was playing up in an age division during the Spring Recreation season, the league would give that player the option(s) to either: 
a. Remain in the age division the player played in during the Spring Recreation season
OR
b. Go back down into the division the player is eligible to play in based on her birthdate per the rules of USA Softball

**Please note** ONLY the 8U Division will have an All Star showcase**

E. Birthdate Cut Off Dates
1) Players with birthdates 9/1/2017 or before will have the option to play with the older age group or choose to play in the younger division provided they meet the "play up" rule requirements as stated above. However, players born 9/1/2018 or after, will be placed in the age division under the current age guidelines written by USA Softball and anyone looking to play up a division will be subject to the play up rules above.
2) As of October 8, 2024, players who elected to play up into the 10U/12U/14U divisions will be grandfathered into this play up rule, allowing them to continue playing in the older age group without re-evaluation under this new policy.

* In the 6U Division, friends can sign up and play together on the same team. (The league cannot make a guarantee that every request can be honored.)  

*There are NO requests in Divisions 8U-14U. (Age eligible sisters may be placed on the same team.) 

*Fielding 1 or more 14U teams is contingent upon enrollment numbers.

*The Spring Select Interest form will go out in January. 

REGISTRATION FEES

Early registration runs from now through November 30th.  All registrations after 12/31 will be put on a waiting list.

• 6U: $125 Early Registration Fee / $165 after 11/30.
• 8U - 14U: $235 Early Registration Fee / $295 after 11/30.

A Two Payment Option is available with 1/2 due at the time of registration and 1/2 due on 12/31.  There is a $10 fee to use this option.

REFUND POLICY:  If a player requests to drop from the league prior to evaluation day, they will be refunded their registration fee minus a $25 processing fee.  There are NO REFUNDS after teams have been formed.
